WARNING – if you are in an abusive relationship and your abuser has access to your computer, it is important that you take precautionary steps to hide your internet activities. If you know that your abuser has access to the computer that you use, the best safety measure to take is to use another computer.
40-Hour Domestic Violence Training
The next 40-hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training will begin on Thursday, May 3rd and will conclude on Monday June 18th. There will be no session on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th. The sessions will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital in San Pedro.
Because Rainbow Services believes that a key step in ending the cycle of violence is education, the decision was made for the agency to underwrite the bulk of the cost of the training and charge attendees a modest $100.

Mary Kay Brings Holiday Cheer to Rainbow Participants
We were recently incredibly lucky to have Mary Kay come to Rainbow and bring makeovers and inspiration to our participants. Check out these articles on the event:
Hollywood actress Alexa Vega (Spy Kids franchise, From Prada to Nada) talks to a domestic violence survivor during the Mary Kay "You Are Beautiful" holiday celebration in San Pedro, CA, Dec. 8, 2011. Nearly 30 survivors of domestic violence received unforgettable holiday surprises when Mary Kay showered the women with makeovers, gifts cards, beauty products, musical serenades, flowers, and empowerment.
